Pipes that have been manufactured on Dreistern roll forming systems have extraordinary weld seam quality. This quality is made possible by the special attention Dreistern pays to even the smallest detail that could affect the quality of the weld seam. This of course includes in particular the quality of the strip edges: clean, without interfering soiling, flat and free of stress, finally perfectly aligned with each other with exactly defined gap geometry. Such properties are the result of careful strip preparation and low-stress forming that are indicative of Dreistern’s special know-how. This is the reason why pipes manufactured on Dreistern roll forming systems have particularly low cold work hardening. Such pipes can withstand higher loads and can also be further formed to a large degree.
Time and again Dreistern innovations create new opportunities in pipe manufacture. One of these innovations is Start-Stop® laser welding. This feature makes possible an interruption-free weld seam even during Start-Stop® operation. In this way numerous additional operations such as punching or embossing can be integrated into pipe welding systems much more easily than in the past.
