Tube welding systems for thin wall tubes are varied, and always extremely demanding.
Conduits for glass fibre cables, tubes for medical technology, gas compensators or AGR heat exchangers for flue gas cooling – tube welding systems for thin wall tubes have numerous applications. They are almost always extremely demanding. At Dreistern, “thin-walled” means in the extreme case 80 µm and a diameter–thickness ratio over 250. It is particularly due to their experience from the many systems supplied that the Dreistern experts tackle each task with particular care.

If a customer compares a laser pipe welding system to a water tap, the comment does not initially sound like a compliment. A Dreistern customer wanted to express in this way how easy and reliable his system is to operate. Switch on and the pipe flows like water out of the tap – simple, reliable and always with the same high quality.

Ten kilometres of flawless welding is the requirement if you want to qualify for the manufacture of glass fibre cables. With a Dreistern system you will not take any risks and will produce even quicker than the others. This statement also applies to the smallest pipe that can be produced by Dreistern systems without reducing. It has a diameter of only 1.7 mm.

AGR flue gas heat exchanges do not have it easy. Up to 100 kW thermal load in the smallest space, extreme temperature fluctuations with peaks up to 900 ºC and high mechanical loads are the typical operating conditions. These conditions place high requirements on the heat exchanger pipes and on the manufacturing technology required. At Dreistern it is known that dependable, competent partners are imperative for such tasks.

The manufacture of compensators is like a special weld seam test. There is hardly any other application in which a weld seam must withstand such high loads. However, this is not the only requirement on a production system for compensator pipes. High production speed, fast dimension changes and a minimum scrap rate are additional requirements. If you want to keep the costs under control, you had better talk to Dreistern.
